So why Obj-C and Java over Swift and Kotlin for this article?

Truth be told, React Native is getting a rewrite, but the original prototype (3 or so yrs ago) was done in Obj-C and Java, so when you jump down into native, or read the open source for React Native it’s those two languages.

Now I don’t know what languages will be used in the rewrite, BUT! I bet they might be updating the base libraries. Regardless, you can use Swift if you’d like, it’s just not as easy as I had shown in this article.

I’m hoping I can figure out a good <Welcome/> component in Swift/Kotlin and do a follow-up blog post. It will require a little more research on my part, but I’ll let you know how it goes :D
